What are noodles?

Noodles are a staple food for many civilizations from East to West. Most consist of flour and water, formed into dough, then cut into various shapes and sizes, usually taking the form of strings. Asian noodles are differentiated from Italian pasta in that they are typically cut from the dough, as opposed to extruded through a press. Noodles can be prepared in many ways, such as pan-fry, stir-fry, steamed, broth, and stew. However, the soup noodle is the most common choice throughout the world.
